Alexander (Alec) Booth
Project Engineer Management Coordinator

Alexander is a project engineering supervisor for the Operation Technology Research and Development (R&D) group at United Parcel Service (UPS). Since 2018, his role specifically entails developing projects in the R&D phase for further testing and execution in the material handling at UPS facilities. He drives engineering projects useful and valuable to the company from the initial ideation phase to the fully realized production-level automation phase design, overall turning initial ideas into solved solutions to obstacles.

Alexander is focused on various emerging technologies in the field of robotics/Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). In addition, he is highly involved in designing and developing novel machine solutions that automate sortation, labeling, containerization, and consolidation of customer packages to further streamline the greater network within UPS sortation facilities.

Alexander most recently served as project engineer for Atronix Engineering where he commissioned automated sorters at newly constructed UPS package sortation facilities. In this role, he executed the physical and technical steps for ensuring the overall functionality of conveyor systems, scanners, camera tunnels, controls systems, sortation logic, and many more aspects of the machines that automatically manage customer packages reliably and by design.

Alexander joined Diop Institute, LLC in 2023. Overall, he is passionate in discovering creative solutions to both technical problems in his professional and hobby sphere. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
